Coral Gables, FL - In a game that showcased resilience and determination, the Miami Hurricanes ultimately fell just short, losing 76-67 to the rival Florida Gators. Despite leading for 36 of the game's 40 minutes, the Hurricanes' efforts were undone in the final stretch.

The game started with a back-and-forth tempo, with both teams trading baskets. The Hurricanes held a slight lead throughout the first half, but the Gators stayed close. At the break, Miami led by just 3 points, 36-33.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with the Hurricanes continuing to hold a narrow advantage. However, with just over 10 minutes remaining, the Gators finally tied the game at 59-59.

From that point on, the momentum shifted in favor of Florida. Led by guard Tre Mann's hot shooting, the Gators went on a 13-0 run to take a commanding lead. Miami coach Jim Larrañaga called a timeout to try to stop the bleeding, but the Gators' defense was too strong.

The Hurricanes rallied briefly, getting within 5 points of the Gators with less than 3 minutes to go. But Florida made its free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

The Hurricanes shot just 39% from the field, including a dismal 22% from three-point range. Star guard Isaiah Wong led the way with 22 points, but he struggled from the outside, making just 2 of 10 attempts from beyond the arc.

The Hurricanes also turned the ball over 15 times, giving the Gators numerous opportunities to score.

Despite the offensive struggles, Miami's defense played well for most of the game. They forced 11 Florida turnovers and held the Gators to just 41% shooting.

Forward Sam Waardenburg was a standout for the Hurricanes, blocking 3 shots and grabbing 8 rebounds. Guard Harlond Beverly added 3 steals.

The Miami Hurricanes had a disappointing end to a season that began with so much promise. Despite leading for the majority of the game, they were unable to close it out.

The Hurricanes now face an offseason full of questions, including whether coach Jim Larrañaga will return. They will also need to address their offensive struggles if they want to be competitive in the ACC next season.
